Dr. Ajay Aurora at Vision Plus Eye Centre brings over 29 years of expertise to the field of ophthalmology, specializing in vitreoretinal care.

Dr Aurora’s academic journey began at Jawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), where he earned his MBBS in 1983, followed by an MS in Ophthalmology in 1986 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Ophthalmology in 1985, all from the same institution. Further enhancing his skills, Dr. Aurora pursued fellowship training in Retina at Retina Foundation, Ahmedabad, in 1997, and a fellowship in Retina, Vitreous, and Uvea at the University of California San Diego, USA, in 2001.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr Aurora has been honoured with several awards and recognitions, including the Santoshwati Memorial Medal in 1983, the C K Kumaraswamy 51 Birthday Commemoration Gold Medal in 1986, and the JIPMER Merit Scholarship in 1983. His contributions to the field have been acknowledged internationally, such as receiving the SAARC Ophthalmology Congress Best Paper award in 1998 and the Joseph M. and Eula C. Lawrence Retina Research Foundation award by the ARVO (Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology), USA, in 2001.

Dr. Aurora’s comprehensive services include refractive surgery, cataract surgery, retina surgery and Lasik, vitreoretinal surgery, retinal detachment surgery, age-related macular degeneration treatment, Avastin injections, fundus fluorescein angiography, diabetic eye checkup, and neuro-ophthalmology, among others.
